This is a Bargin!, November 17, 2008
By AllensMom from Jackson, TN

"I have been very impressed with this carseat. I bought two of them (one for my car and one for my husband's). My son is 18 months old and has used this carseat for over six months. He sleeps in it just fine so it must be comfy. And the straps are very easily adjustable.
We have washed the (easily removable) cover three times and it still looks brand new. The material is really nice.
It is a real bargin for less than $100. I highly recommend!"

"I've been shopping around for two weeks looking at convertible carseats for my 7-month-old (now almost 8-month-old) twins. Since I needed to buy two of them, I had to find something affordable, but I didn't want to sacrifice quality or style. I think I looked at everything in the under-$100 category and this seat seemed to blow the competition away both online and in-stores.

I was looking for the right balance of price, comfort, size, and safety.

Price - After exhausting my search in the $40-$60 range, I was surprised to find a seat with so many features and plush padding still under $100. Now that I have two of them side by side in my car, they really look as nice as any of the more expensive seats. The fabric is stylish and looks like it will clean up easily. I'm confident that the seat will still look nice after heavy use.

Comfort - It's plenty cushy - much more so than our infant seats were. The extra cushion doubles the seat padding, but it's nice with or without it. I had to adjust the straps to accommodate the pad, but everything still fits nicely. It probably will need to come out when the boys move on to the toddler settings. The Titan could use pads for the shoulder straps, but for the price, I can buy some to add.

My babies seem really happy with their seats. They get excited every time I put them in. This carseat does sit up a little straighter than their infant seats did, but that's one of the features they seem to be enjoying. I haven't needed to add any towels or pool noodles to adjust the angle, - even when they fall asleep, but I think a newborn would need extra reclining.

Size - This is the biggest problem I have with rear-facing seats in general. I'm 5'10", so even in my Durango I try to avoid putting a rear-facing seat behind my chair. That being said, with this seat I could if I needed to. I did have to slide the front passenger seat about an inch forward from where my old infant seat had it.

I have installed two Titans side by side in the passenger and middle seat of my second row. There is still plenty of room for my older son's booster seat to go behind the driver with easy access to the seatbelt. This doesn't leave any room for the optional cup holders, and storage bins, but our configuration will change when it's time to turn the seats around.

Safety - This seat utilizes a 5-point harness and the Latch system. I also read in the manual that it was side-impact tested. It will accommodate a child up to 35 lbs rear-facing, and up to a whopping 50 lbs forward facing. My 7-year-old is only 54 lbs though he is way too tall for this seat. There are numerous height and buckle adjustments to get a snug fit around a growing child. The shoulder harness release strap is at the front of the seat, but its placed high enough that it is easily accessed in the rear-facing position. I use this every time I put the kids in the seats without any trouble at all. The buckles seemed a bit stiff the first time I used the seats but they have gotten easier the more I do it. I can't tell if the buckles are actually less stiff now or if I'm just getting better at using a new seat.

I installed one Titan in the middle of the backseat using my car's seat belt and the belt clip that came with the carseat. Getting the seat belt through requires pulling up the seat pad to see the holes, but the pad comes off and goes back on very, very easily and yet stays put when its on. The seat belt was not difficult to pull through and buckle. The belt clip, however, was a real pain. I think it would have gone easier with a helper. Luckily for most people, the clip is only required for seatbelts that have sliding buckles or won't lock up tight.

The second seat installed very quickly with the Latch system which makes it super fast and simple to get the seat in tight. The manual has easy to follow directions and detailed illustrations. The manual also clips to the back of the carseat so its always there when you need it.

There are slotted hooks for holding the Latch clips behind the seat when you aren't using them. One of the clips slipped off the hook today, but I had hooked it incorrectly. No problems since I redid it. I don't really see the point of having slots in the hooks.

If I could do anything to improve this seat I would find a way to shrink its overall size without losing any of the seating space. It's not huge compared to some other convertibles, but its does take up the seat. My twins look very comfortable with room to stretch out, and still the adjustable harness stays snug.

Maybe there's a nicer or cuter carseat out there somewhere, but not for anything close to this price!"

"We're still getting used to the new seat. It is very easy to install and nicely padded. The extra cushion is nice, but when my little one sits on it the buckle and straps that go between his legs seems to be in the wrong place. It's better without the cushion.
We took it to our local health unit for an inspection. The expert there highly recommended the seat, and said she had purchased the same one for her child."

"Great safety features at a good price. Easily installs and easy to adjust. It's a bit on the huge side, which can make things a bit cramped for someone in the front seat. or sitting next to this seat."

Excellent car seat, November 20, 2007
By nicksmom from washington dc

"I bought this car seat for my son when he outgrew his infant carrier. He loves riding in this seat. It is very comfortable for him and he falls asleep in it all the time. I find it very easy to install and uninstall this seat out of my vehicle. The cover comes off for easy cleaning and the straps are a piece of cake. I also like the fact that there is no styrofoam anywhere near where my son can pick at it while he is strapped in. This is by far the best car seat for the money."

Good for a wide child, November 10, 2007
By FAITHFAMILY from Virginia Beach, VA

"We purchased 2 car seats, this was my second choice only because it's alittle to large for my 15 month old. This one will go in my husband's truck for occasional use, so we won't have to replace this one as our child grows."

comfortable, November 7, 2007
By mamma from Craig, Co

"I would recommend this carseat to many mothers that don't or can't carry their child in a carseat any more. This carseat is very secure, safe, and comfortable for my 5 month old daughter. I really like this seat. I can still have her rear-facing and when she getts older I can have her facing the front."

Forward/Rear Facing Car Seat, November 7, 2007
By NanaRed from Akron, OH

"This car seat is a sturdy, well-built car seat that my granddaughter loves. I looked at many car seats prior to making my purchase, and for the purpose of the seat as well as the expense this seat was the best deal. I am confident that should the seat be put to the test, my granddaughter would be safe and the outcome would be a positive one. I recommend this seat to other grandmothers and new mothers as well. I'm sure mothers with children already knew what a great buy this product is without my comments.
It is a nicely designed, well thought out color scheme for a boy or girl and fits well in my daughter's Toyota as well as my Buick."

"Rear facing this car seat fit into my car better than others I tried - other car seats take up too much room. This also looks nice."
